La Canada entered Saturday’s showdown at Alhambra on a three-game losing streak and not having played in eight days.
The Spartans remedied the situation by jumping on the Moors early, and they cruised to a 12-2 nonleague victory.
LCHS had a 14-3 advantage in hits, including a 5-1 edge in extra-base hits.
Noah Navarro got roughed up for nine runs (seven earned) on 10 hits over four innings.
Navarro walked two and fanned one LCHS batter.
Ross Piken went 2-for-4, scored and had a two-run triple.
Will Park walked, doubled, scored twice and drove in one from the leadoff spot.
Finn Flowerhogan went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and one RBI.
Ethan Wong singled, scored twice and had a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Austin Loughrin doubled, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Brandon Mohaghegh had an RBI single, doubled and scored.
Eli Street drew a bases loaded walk.
Benji Geller went 1-for-2 with two walks, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Tyler Trimble and Adyn Chidester had one hit apiece.
Nick Pieper walked and scored.
Scott Burns started, and he went two scoreless and hitless innings.
He walked five and struck out a pair of AHS batters.
Fritz Phillips provided 1 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings.
Phillips issued a pair of walks and registered three strikeouts.
Declan Conwell was charged with two runs on three hits in 2/3 of an inning.
Nate Chen (1/3 IP) and Nathan Tackes (1) combined for 1 1/3 innings of scoreless and hitless innings in relief.
