Walter Bilau Goes Distance, Allowing One Earned Run & Struck Out Eight in Claremont’s 8-2 Palomares League Victory Over DBHS

Claremont salvaged a split in its two-game Palomares League series with Diamond Bar thanks to Thursday’s 8-2 victory at CHS.

The Wolfpack rebounded from a dramatic 6-5 loss on Wednesday, as the Brahmas scored twice in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.

Walter Bilau went the distance and surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits.

Bilau issued three walks and registered eight strikeouts.

Sixty-seven of his 110 pitches were strikes.

Jacob Smith singled, doubled and scored.

Dominic Deguzman singled and doubled.

Jeremiah Jung drew a pair of walks and scored.

Sebastian Roseli had an RBI single in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 2-2.

Matt Villagracia singled once on Thursday.

Jacob Smith was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on six hits over four innings.

Smith walked one and fanned a pair of CHS batters.

Evan Blacksher doubled and scored.

Dane Dorman singled and scored.

Nico Vasquez went 2-for-2 with a walk, two runs and he was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.

Reed Miller walked, singled twice and drove in one run.

Jacob Lucas had an RBI double and an RBI ground out.

Brady Houlton went 2-for-3 with a run and one RBI.

Kai Messner drew a bases loaded walk.

Maxi Garcia had an RBI ground out and scored.

Patrick Delgado had an RBI single and scored.
