Chase Mena & Parker Wilson Combine for Five Hits & Three Runs in San Marino’s 5-3 Victory at Montebello

Baseball:

San Marino secured a two-game sweep of Montebello.

Two days after a 5-0 victory at SMHS, the Titans defeated the Oilers, 5-3, at MHS.

San Marino trailed 2-0, but they would score four times in the top of the third, and once in the fifth.

JJ Rudolph got the win after going four innings and allowing two runs on three hits.

Rudolph walked three and struck out a trio of Oilers.

Ryan Smith went the fifth inning, and he was charged with one run on two hits.

Smith issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.

Alex Lumino earned the save after going two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.

Lumino didn’t give a free pass and he fanned four MHS batters.

Manny Arana walked, doubled and scored.

Fernando Cruz singled and scored.

Nathan Govea went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and an RBI triple.

Joe Curiel and Andrew Salazar had one RBI single apiece.

Govea got the loss after surrendering four runs on six hits over three innings.

Govea didn’t walk anyone and fanned a pair of Titans.

Chase Mena went 3-for-4 with two runs, a double and an RBI single.

Parker Wilson singled twice and scored from the leadoff spot.

Miles Morning had an RBI single and scored.

Charlie Danenhauer’s RBI single in the fifth gave SMHS a 5-2 lead.

JT Lu-Morris singled and scored.

Aldo Cali had an RBI ground out.

William Stenvick walked and singled.

Up next: The Titans host Temple City on Friday at 3:30 in a Rio Hondo League contest.
