College Baseball:
Mt. SAC secured the three-game South Coast Conference series over East Los Angeles College after Saturday’s 7-6 victory at ELAC.
The Huskies out-hit the Mounties, 12-8.
Trailing 5-4, Mt. SAC scored twice in the top of the sixth and they got one more in the seventh.
Juan Verduzco got the win after finishing the game with 3 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.
Verduzco didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.
Marcus Orizaba went 3-for-4 with a run, double and an RBI single in the third inning.
Camden Conklin scored, drove in a run on a fielder’s choice, singled in a run and doubled.
Jose Guzman went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Adrian Rodriguez and Gabriel Rincon singled and scored one run apiece.
Moses Aguirre went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Josh Gonzalez walked and scored.
Mt. SAC scored three runs apiece off Matthew Lee and Javier Solis on six hits and three walks.
Juan Contreras got the loss after surrendering one run on two hits and a walk.
Andrew Alva hit a two-run home run in the top of the second inning.
Tyler Primanto drew a pair of walks and scored one run.
Nick Mejia doubled, tripled and scored two runs.
Frankie Brazil went 4-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI singles.
Terrell Jackson walked, scored, drove in one run on a sac fly and had an RBI ground out.
Luca Lombardi drew a pair of walks and scored twice.
Hudson Karczynski was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
Jackson Giacone singled once in the win.
Up next: The Mounties host PCC on Tuesday in the first of a three-game SCC series.
