Baseball:
For the second time this week, Glendora secured a 1-0 lead against Ayala, and the Bulldogs answered with nine runs.
AHS secured the two-game Palomares League sweep with victories of 9-1 and 9-2 on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
The Tartans actually out-hit their hosts, 9-6.
Easton Sarmiento earned the win after going 4 2/3 innings and allowing a pair of unearned runs on six hits.
Sarmiento issued three walks and registered seven strikeouts.
Jake Zandbergen (1 1/3) and Nolan Chuang (1) combined to go 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief with no walks and four strikeouts.
Over the two-game series, Ayala pitching walked five batters while striking out 26.
John Seader went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the top of the fourth to give the Tartans a 1-0 lead.
In the fifth, trailing 6-1, Diego Garza doubled in a run.
Garza also walked and singled.
Troy Norman singled and scored.
Tanner Grable walked, singled twice and scored.
Aidan Yamazaki went 2-for-3.
Sebastian Lawrence was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs on one hit and four walks over three-plus innings.
Lawrence got one AHS batter on strikes.
Santiago Garza was charged with three runs on two hits and one walk over one inning.
And Jude Garcia surrendered three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings.
Alan Ohno got the final out in the sixth for Glendora.
Jaden Valenzuela hit a 2-run homer, singled in another and scored two runs.
Eric Hernandez had a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth.
Ivan Ruddell singled and scored.
Caleb Trugman walked and scored.
Aiden Granados walked and bunted in a run.
Jonah Boys went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Jrue Hurd had an RBI ground out in the six-run fourth inning, singled and scored.
Dylan Wood drew two walks, including one with the bases loaded and scored.
Up next: GHS travels to Portola on Monday at noon.
AHS will host Bonita on Wednesday at 3:30.
