Baseball:
La Salle won’t be getting a Christmas card this year from the Serra baseball program.
In three Del Rey League games, the Lancers defeated the Cavaliers by a combined margin of 29-0.
Three days after a 15-0 beatdown at Serra, La Salle settled for a 4-0 victory.
Andrew Luna and David Eriksson combined on a two-hit shutout.
Luna went five scoreless and allowed one hit.
He issued one walk and registered six strikeouts.
Eriksson got the final six outs, including two via strikeout.
Luna totaled 42 strikes over his 68-pitch outing.
Sixteen of Eriksson’s 22 pitches were strikes.
Amir Linton went 2-for-3, while the rest of the Cavaliers went a combined 0-for-18.
Brian Owens got the loss after surrendering four runs on four hits and six walks over five innings.
Owens registered two strikeouts.
Daniel Ruiz had RBI singles in the bottom of the first and fifth innings.
Isaiah Romero singled in a run.
Drew Ward went 1-for-3 with an RBI single.
Chris Cardenas drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Gabriel Arias walked three times and scored.
Miguel Romero drew one walk and came around to score.
Up next: The Lancers head to Nashville to battle Lipscomb Academy in a doubleheader next Saturday.
