Baseball:
South Hills secured the three-game Hacienda League sweep over Los Altos.
The Huskies secured victories over 10-1, 1-0 and 11-3 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
SHHS out-hit LAHS, 26-9, this week.
Diego Ortiz was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs on six hits over six innings.
Ortiz issued a pair of walks and registered seven strikeouts.
The Huskies scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to three hits, three walks and a pair of sac flies.
Carson Baker was the offensive hero on Thursday.
He went 3-for-5 with a double, homer, three runs and five RBIs.
Baker had a sac fly in the first, a two-run shot in the third and a two-run single in the seventh.
Paxton Czubek walked, scored twice, singled, hit a solo HR and finished with two RBIs.
Victor Merlos contributed a pair of doubles and one RBI.
Gabriel Guerrero drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Diego Villarreal also walked twice and scored one run.
Hudson Hempel had a pair of singles and scored.
Ayden Vieth and Richie Soto both had a sac fly for South Hills.
Sebastian Morinaga and Aiden Gomez scored one run apiece in the win.
Czubek went 1 1/3 innings, and he was charged with one run on two hits.
Czubek walked two and fanned a pair of Conquerors.
Marc Morales was credited with the win after going 2 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.
Morales issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.
Nicholas Carrillo provided two perfect innings in relief, including three strikeouts.
Jacob Castaneda and Josh Venegas singled and scored one run apiece for Los Altos.
Jacob Vargas went 2-for-4.
Mikey Arroyo and Either Diaz singled in the loss.
Jonathan Guzman scored for LAHS.
Up next: The Huskies open a three-game set with San Dimas on Monday at 3:30 at SDHS.
