College Baseball:
Citrus dominated Bakersfield for the second time this week.
The Owls cruised to a 17-4 victory in Glendora in a Western State Conference South Division contest.
In the first two of a three-game series, Citrus has outscored Bakersfield by a combined margin of 30-5.
The Owls (14-7) have already surpassed last year’s win total of 13.
Conner Luetto got the win after going two runs on four hits over six innings.
Luetto improved to 2-1, and he issued one walk and registered nine strikeouts.
Landon McDonald went 3-for-4, including an RBI single and an RBI double.
Brady Baird walked, singled, tripled and scored a pair of runs.
Jordan Brito had an RBI single and scored.
The No. 1 through No. 3 batters in the Renegades lineup accounted for all six of their hits.
Logan Judd got roughed up for six runs on three hits and three walks over the first inning.
Tony Fabian was charged with four runs on six hits and a pair of walks over three innings.
Five Bakersfield pitchers combined to walk eight batters and strike out one.
They actually cut their walks in half from Tuesday’s 16-free pass debacle.
Jordan Daniels drew a pair of walks, singled, hit a solo HR and scored three runs.
Derek Almeda singled, doubled and scored three times.
Cole West drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.
Cam Casado went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
Joe Gilkeson walked, singled and hit a two-run HR.
Matt Kaneshiro doubled, scored three runs and was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
Garrett Patterson walked, singled and had an RBI ground out.
Jackson Gray went 2-for-3, scored, and had a two-run single in the first inning.
Lance Armijo walked and singled.
Beau Lloyd hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth.
Nick Velazquez drew a bases loaded walk and scored.
