College Baseball:
Mt. SAC improved to 4-0 in South Coast Conference action thanks to an 8-1 victory over their visitors from Rio Hondo College.
Tomas Bilvado had another stellar outing.
Bilvado improved to 3-2 after going six runs and allowing just an unearned run on eight hits.
In his last two starts, the former San Marino ace has gone 15 innings without walking a batter, and he’s totaled 13 strikeouts.
Jack Rudometkin, Cash Carroll and Brent Maloof provided one scoreless and hitless inning in relief.
Diego Helguera singled in a run in the top of the fifth inning for Rio Hondo.
Nathan Sena singled and scored.
Anthony Baez went 2-for-4 in the loss.
Andrew Ruvalcava doubled, while Danyal Jenkins, Andy Becerra and Lucius Mika had one single apiece.
Matthew Sandoval fell to 0-4 and going five innings and allowing seven runs on 10 hits.
Sandoval issued four walks and registered one strikeout.
Andrew Alva drew a walk, and his two-run HR in the bottom of the first gave Mt. SAC a 2-0 lead.
Ryan Castro walked, had an RBI triple, an RBI single and he scored one run.
Tyler Primanto went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and three runs.
Chip Mertz walked, singled and scored.
Nick Mejia singled, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Luca Lombardi went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Hudson Karczynski doubled and scored.
