Bonita got off to a great start in its CIF-SS Division 3 second round showdown with their visitors from Blair.
The Bearcats scored 28 points, including five 3-pointers.
And BHS led 28-17 after the first eight minutes.
Blair would go on a 47-27 run over the second and third periods, and they held on for a 79-71 victory.
The Bearcats (10) and Vikings (13) combined for 23 3-pointers.
Simieon Alawode hit six 3-pointers, and he scored 22 points in the win.
Joseph Riggins chipped in with 21 points, including five 3’s.
Joshua Sheran and Jaleel Hunter combined to score 30 points in the win.
Beau Rudometkin led Bonita with 16 points.
Jalen Pineda hit a pair of 3’s, and he finished with 14 points.
Brayden Henderson scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half, including nine in the final eight minutes.
James Kim finished with 12 points, all of which came in the first half.
Kim scored 10 points in the 28-point first quarter, including a 3-pointer.
The Bearcats finish 21-9, and they earned a share of the Palomares League championship with Ayala.
Up next: The Vikings will travel to Trabuco Hills on Tuesday in a quarterfinal round contest.
The Mustangs (18-12) defeated their hosts from Saugus (60-54) in their second-round showdown.
