Glendora Earns at Least a Share of Palomares League Championship After Wednesday’s 55-38 Victory Over Claremont

One year after an unusual fourth-place finish, Adam Nunemaker’s girls will regain the Palomares League championship.

Glendora secured the two-game sweep over Claremont after Wednesday’s 55-38 victory at GHS.

With the game tied at 22-22 at the break, the Tartans went on a 33-16 run in the second half.

With two games to play, Glendora leads Claremont by two games, and they hold a three-game advantage over Bonita.

They can do no worse than share the Palomares crown, but make no mistake about it, GHS will secure an outright title.

It will be their sixth in the last nine years.

Glendora travels to Bonita (5-3) on Friday, and they host Walnut (2-6) on Monday evening.

Reagan Herrmann scored 12 of her game-high 22 points during the second half run.

Herrmann also totaled five rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Mia Reyes chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and she went 4-of-10 from 3-point land.

All nine of Kamryn Kuo’s points came from beyond the 3-point arc.

GHS shot 69-percent (11-of-16) on 2-point shots, and 26-percent (9-of-35) on 3-pointers.

They converted 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Suraya Haqq led Claremont with 19 points.

Khrysma Johnson chipped in with nine points, and Kameron Thom had six in a losing effort.
