Girls Hoops:
Bonita bounced back nicely from an overtime loss at Glendora.
The Bearcats secured a 43-35 Palomares League victory over their visitors from Ayala.
BHS improved to 3-2 in league games.
Tressa Beatty scored a game-high 24 points.
The Bonita senior hit six 3-pointers, which matched Ayala’s output from beyond 3-point land.
She also went 4-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Leading by at the half, the Bearcats went on a 13-3 run in the third quarter.
Malei’a Reaves chipped in with 11 points in the win.
Addison Gonzalez led Ayala with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
All 12 of Rachel Chen’s came from beyond the 3-point arc.
Up next: BHS battles South Pasadena on Saturday, and then on Wednesday, they will resume Palomares League play at Diamond Bar.
The tip is set for 6.
