Girls Soccer:
If the first four games are any indication, the Del Rey League soccer title chase is going to be low scoring and very competitive.
La Salle improved to 2-1-1 in league thanks to a 1-0 victory over their visitors from Bishop Montgomery.
After a competitive battle throughout, the Lancers broke through late when freshman Lyla Davila found the back of the net off an assist from senior Skylar Chen.
Defensively, La Salle remained solid from start to finish, with junior goalkeeper Raquel Rios earning another shutout on the season.
Through the first four league games, La Salle has scored four goals and allowed just three.
They also had a 2-0 victory over St. Joseph to open DRL play back on January 6th, and after a 2-0 loss to St. Genevieve, the Lancers finished in a 1-1 tie at Paraclete.
Up next: The Lancers will host Bishop Amat on Thursday evening at 5:30.
Amat (12-3-4 overall, 2-0-2 in league) currently sits atop the Del Rey League standings.
