Boys Hoops:
It took a team from Nevada to hand Etiwanda its first loss of the 2025-26 season.
And Liberty High School needed overtime to edge the Eagles, 61-59.
EHS had to go on a 21-14 run in the fourth period to force an extra period.
Devin Mitchell scored eight of his team-high 18 points in the final eight minutes of regulation.
Sam Funn chipped in with 13 points and Jacob Coleman had 11.
Dante Steward led all scorers with 23 points.
Tyus Thomas added 17 for the boys from Henderson.
Daaron Thompkins provided 12 points for the Patriots.
Up next: The Eagles will battle Loyola on Monday morning at 11 at Ramona High School.
