Football:
Citrus lost its third consecutive game on Saturday night.
The Owls defense surrendered 477 yards of total offense in a 42-27 conference setback to their visitors from Moorpark.
Trailing 14-7 midway through the second quarter, the Raiders went on a 35-7 run to pull away.
Brian Salazar completed 19-of-29 for 222 yards, three TDs and a pair of picks.
Isaiah McKee carried the ball eight times for 70 yards, including one TD.
Salazar rushed for 48 yards on 10 carries.
Keyonn Chatman gained 32 yards on 12 carries.
Cameron Bateman caught six passes for 77 yards, and a 46-yard TD in the second quarter.
Lorenza Simmons totaled 61 yards on three catches, including a 48-yard TD midway through the first quarter to catch Moorpark at 7-7.
Drew Tapley had a 19-yard TD catch for the Owls.
Bear Baker had a game-high 11 tackles for Citrus.
Maddox Barrios (8), Elijah Ybanez (6), Jarrel Comer (6), Jacob Cox (6), Raymond Esparza (5), Kareem Esmili (4), Dylan Howard (4) and Amare’ Bradley (4) combined for 43 tackles.
Barrios also picked a pass and brough it back 24 yards.
Aidan Karsh completed 27-of-41 for 337 yards.
That included three TDs and one interception.
The Moorpark quarterback also had TD runs of 5 and 2 yards.
Carson Green led the Raiders ground game with 50 yards on 14 carries.
Green scored on a 15-yard TD run just 54 seconds into the game.
Ja’Tyrian Moore had game highs in catches (8) and receiving yards (146).
Moore caught a 9-yard TD pass from Karsh with eight seconds remaining in the half.
Jude Hooks had six receptions for 84 yards and one TD.
Angel Urban totaled 54 receiving yards on six catches.
Nolan Story led Moorpark with nine tackles, and Shyne Kalilikane had eight.
Up next: The Owls host winless Santa Barbara next Saturday at 6.
