Volleyball:
Rancho Cucamonga avoided disaster on Tuesday.
The Cougars rallied for two sets down to edge last-place Upland in five games.
The win allowed RCHS to remain in the Baseline League’s No. 3 spot.
With three league games remaining, Rancho Cucamonga is one-game back of second-place Etiwanda.
The Cougars defeated Upland by scores of 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21 and 15-6.
Audrey Chu had four aces and 38 assists.
Olivia Bliss finished with 29 digs.
Emily Smith chipped in with 11 kills.
Kailynn Tuliaupupu provided 11 kills and a pair of blocks.
Lyric Kelly contributed nine kills and two blocks.
Up next: The Cougars will host first-place Los Osos (7-0) on Thursday at 4:45.
