Girls Athletes of the Week:

Glendora got off to a 1-3 start to the 2025 season.

Since then, however, the Tartans have won five consecutive games.

And they’ve turned up the heat with their defense significantly.

In wins over West Covina, Charter Oak, St. Lucy’s, Don Lugo and Azusa, GHS has surrendered just 12 total points.

And they shut out WCHS, DLHS and AHS.

This past week, Glendora defeated Don Lugo (14-0) on Monday and Azusa (13-0) on Wednesday.

GHS coach Greg Bidoli said every member of the program has done something to help right the ship.

But for this week, seniors Hailey Travisano and Olivia Martin played starring roles.

In the two wins, Hailey Travisano gained 102 yards rushing and one TD.

And she reeled in a 55-yard TD catch.

Olivia Martin has made her presence felt on both sides of the ball.

She totaled 66 receiving yards and one TD.

And Martin picked off four passes, including three in the win over the Aztecs.

Quotable:

Glendora coach, Greg Bidoli: “Hailey Travisano gives us the opportunity to have a big play every time she rushes or catches the football from the RB position.  Olivia Martin gives us a deep-play threat as a wide receiver, and she’s an interception threat at safety.  We have been fortunate to have won five games in a row against some good teams.  It truly has been a group effort.   We have also had large contributions from Ronnie Hermmann (LB/TE) and Maddie Finkbiner (LB), as well as quality play from sophomore quarterbacks Rylee Franks and Peyton Martinez over the last five games.  We’re just trying to take it one game at a time.  We still have two very good nonleague opponents ahead of us with a game at Wilson on Wednesday, and we’ll host San Gabriel on Saturday. After that, we’ll compete in the very tough and competitive Palomares League, which begins on September 9th at Claremont.”
