Northview earned a spot the second round of the CIF-SS D-4 playoffs thanks to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Apple Valley.
Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Vikings scored twice to secure the win.
And NHS persevered in spite of tallying just one base hit.
Brynne Johnson got the loss after allowing three unearned runs on one hit and four walks.
Johnson struck out a trio of NHS batters.
Beatrice Diaz walked and scored.
Clementina Duran drew a pair of walks and had the Vikings only base hit.
Joy Sanchez drew a based loaded walk.
Mila Elizalde’s RBI fielder’s choice tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh.
Sophia Luna’s sharp ground ball that was misplayed and it allowed pinch runner Kaila Dominguez to score the game’s winning run.
Clementina Duran went all seven in the circle to earn the win.
Duran was charged with two unearned runs on four hits.
She issued one walk and registered seven strikeouts.
Hailey Macias’ two-run two-out triple in the top of the fifth gave the Sun Devils a 2-1 lead.
Jordyn Gentile singled and scored.
Makaylee Cerf and Brooke Johnson singled, and Samantha Dollar scored one run.
