Great Oak Scores Seven Unearned Runs off Five Errors in a 7-0 Victory Over Visiting San Marino in First Round of CIF D-3 Playoffs

San Marino saw its 2025 season come to an end on Thursday.

The Titans defense faltered in a 7-0 loss at Great Oak in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs.

All seven GOHS runs were unearned thanks to five San Marino errors.

Tomas Bilvado’s remarkable run at SMHS came to an end, but the Titans senior did all he could to extend their season.

Bilvado went 5 2/3 innings and he was charged with seven unearned runs on five hits.

He issued one walk and registered a game-high nine strikeouts.

Bilvado finished his prep career with 223 strikeouts and a 28-7 record on the mound.

Both are program records.

His senior season included an ERA of 0.92, and an 11-1 record.

Caleb Newton got the final out in the sixth inning for SMHS, and he allowed one hit.

Gavin Fein walked, singled and scored four times.

Wes Shanabarger went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Sam Pink singled, scored and had one RBI.

Gavin Ball doubled, Reagan Ricken singled and Riley Kronenfeld scored one run.

Ricken got the win after going five scoreless innings and allowing two hits.

Ricken issued two walks and registered seven strikeouts.

Roy Kim provided two scoreless and hitless innings in relief, walked two and fanned five SMHS batters.

JJ Wilson and Aldo Cali had one hit apiece for the Titans.

The three-time Rio Hondo League champs finished at 21-7.
