College Baseball:
I wanted to congratulate one of this writer’s all-time Etiwanda baseball players, Parker Sobiesiak.
Sobiesiak was part of the Eagles’2022 CIF-SS Division 2 championship run during his junior campaign.
EHS defeated top-seeded Torrance, 5-1, in the D-2 title game at Cal State Fullerton.
Etiwanda went 8-1 in the 2022 playoffs.
And that included a trip to the CIF-State Division 2 finals.
Parker wouldn’t have been considered a star on a talent-heavy Etiwanda team that went 27-9.
However, he was undoubtedly the heart of the program, and he’s someone that every program needs to win a championship.
He batted .296 that year with 21 hits, 19 runs, 16 RBIs and three doubles.
Sobiesiak covered a lot of ground in center field, and he had a number of clutch base hits during that title season.
Fast forward to 2025, and Sobiesiak earned his spot on the first-team all-Orange Empire Conference list.
Parker, a sophomore at Riverside City College, batted .344 with 32 hits, 15 runs and 24 RBIs.
He totaled seven doubles and three triples.
Sobiesiak had a .408 on-base percentage, and a .488 slugging percentage.
RCC (28-12, 15-6) finished second in the OEC, and they were two games back of the champions from Cypress College.
