Baseball:
Bishop Amat secured a third consecutive Del Rey League championship on Thursday.
Two days after La Salle claimed a dramatic 6-5 victory at BAHS, the Lancers returned the favor with a 3-1 victory at Arcadia County Park.
With two Del Rey League games to play, Bishop Amat has a three-game lead over La Salle.
Justin Peinado went 5 1/3 innings and allowed one run on six hits to earn the win.
Peinado walked three and fanned a pair of La Salle batters.
Damian Marez earned the save by getting the final five outs without any damage.
Aidan Gray went 2-for-3, including an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Andrew Luna singled and scored.
Frane Flores went 2-for-3.
Peter Callihan doubled and Drew Ward singled.
Flores got the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits over 4 2/3 innings.
He walked four and struck out three Amat batters.
David Erickson provided 2 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings in relief.
Erickson issued one walk and registered two strikeouts.
Santiago Ramirez went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a triple and one run scored.
Roman Spencer singled, scored and drew a bases loaded walk.
Aiden Medina walked and scored.
Up next: La Salle and Amat finish their three-game series on Saturday at 1:30 at Arcadia County Park.
