Baseball:

It had been 30 days since Alta Loma had won a baseball game.

The Braves had dropped six in a row.

However, on Wednesday, ALHS claimed a dramatic 5-3 Hacienda League victory at Los Altos in eight innings.

Grant MacCharles drove in the game’s first run on a sac fly to give Alta Loma a 1-0 lead.

And his two-run HR in the top of the seventh were the final two runs of the game, and it secured a 5-3 victory.

MacCharles also went the first 5 1/3 innings, and he was charged with three runs (one earned) on six hits.

MacCharles didn’t issue a walk, and he registered six strikeouts.

Jake Zandbergen was credited with the win after 2 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings in relief.

Zandbergen walked one and fanned a pair of Conquerors.

Nate Barrera singled and scored.

Diego Ortiz went 1-for-3 with a run and one RBI.

Ethier Diaz singled and scored one run for LAHS.

Logan Guevara, Luke Rodriguez and Jacob Vargas had one single apiece.

Four errors cost LAHS three runs.

Ortiz issued two walks and registered five strikeouts.

Chris Ramirez got the loss after going one inning and allowing two runs on one hit and a pair of walks.

Believe it or not, ALHS won a baseball game in spite of getting one total hit all game.

Vince Cantu and Jacob Ynajasa walked and scored one run apiece.

Cody Primanto drove in a run on a sac fly.

Jacob Pimentel and Logan Sein scored one run apiece for the Braves.
