JJ Wilson Goes Distance, Strikes Out Seven & Doubles in a Run in San Marino’s 3-1 Rio Hondo League Victory Over Temple City

Monday was a pretty good day for the San Marino baseball program.

The Titans secured a 3-1 victory over Temple City.

And La Canada’s 4-3 win over Monrovia means that SMHS leapfrogged MHS into the Rio Hondo League penthouse.

JJ Wilson went the distance to earn the win.

Wilson allowed one run on four hits.

He issued one walk and registered seven strikeouts.

Brendan Ortiz had a sac fly in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1.

Tyler Womack went 3-for-3, including a double.

Peyton Navarat singled for TCHS.

Ricardo Quimiro scored the Temple City run.

Womack got the loss after surrendering three runs on seven hits over six innings.

Womack issued three walks and registered five strikeouts.

Chase Mena’s RBI single in the bottom of the first inning gave the Titans a 1-0 lead.

Wilson helped his own cause by going 2-for-2 with a walk, run, and an RBI double.

Tomas Bilvado doubled in a run of his own to give SMHS a 3-1 fifth-inning lead.

Parker Wilson walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.

Miles Morning doubled, and Jamie Bercaw singled.
