Baseball:
Editor’s Note: 1) The following games have league title and/or playoff ramifications for either one or both teams listed. 2) This schedule comes directly from the MaxPreps page of each program.
Baseline League: RCHS (7-2) enters the final two weeks of the regular season with a one-game lead over second place Los Osos (6-3) and Damien (6-3).
The Cougars open up a three-game series on the road against a Chino Hills team that has secured consecutive 2-1 Baseline League series over Etiwanda and Damien.
LOHS and Damien both hope to knock the other out of title contention when they meet up this week.
Del Rey League: La Salle (5-3) would need to sweep all three games against first place Bishop Amat (9-0) this week to even have a chance of sharing the Del Rey League title with the Lancers.
Hacienda League: South Hills (8-0) can put the Hacienda League on ice with a couple victories over second place Colony (6-2).
The Huskies finish off their league schedule next week against Alta Loma (2-3).
Mission Valley League: Thurgood Marshall (8-1) travels to first place South El Monte (9-0) on Wednesday with the opportunity to catch the Lions.
The Eagles finish up against Arroyo (4-4-1) and El Monte (0-8) on Friday, and Monday, respectively.
Olympic League: Maranatha (6-0) has a chance to secure
when they meet up with Valley Christian on Tuesday and Friday.
Unlike previous years, the Minutemen are actually being challenged.
VCHS (5-1) could dethrone MHS if they were to pull off the two-game sweep this week.
However, Maranatha has won every league championship since 2018, and they need just a split with the Defenders this week to secure a seventh consecutive league crown.
There was no champion in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.
Pacific League: As always, Arcadia (12-0) and Crescenta Valley (11-1) will battle for the Pacific League championship.
AHS has won five consecutive league titles, and they only need a split this week to make it six in a row.
Palomares League: Ayala (11-1) hopes to dethrone Bonita (10-1) this week, as they meet up Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Bearcats pitching staff will be tested as they have a makeup game with Glendora on Monday, and then a three-game series with the Bulldogs.
Prep League: Rio Hondo Prep has already secured at least a tie for the Prep League championship.
The Kares (6-0) only need a split in their two-game series with Providence or for Poly to win at least one of their two games with Flintridge Prep (4-2).
Rio Hondo League: Monrovia (8-2) has played two more RHL games than second place San Marino.
The Titans (6-2) have a pair of games against fourth-place Temple City this week, and they finish the regular season with a two-game set against last place South Pasadena.
The Wildcats have a home-and-away series with La Canada (4-4) to finish the RHL portion of their 2025 regular season schedule.
Valle Vista League: Northview has to be considered the favorite to win the VVL time.
The Vikings (5-1) begin the final two weeks with a one-game lead over West Covina (4-2) and Charter Oak (4-2).
And NHS has a pair of two-game series with Rowland and Wilson, who have a combined 2-10 league record.
