Adrian Roman & Thomas Villanueva Combine for Five Hits & Six RBIs in PCC’s 8-4 South Coast Conference Victory Over ELAC

College Baseball:

PCC is still hanging by a thread in their hopes to earn a postseason berth.

The Lancers secured an 8-4 victory over their visitors from East Los Angeles College.

The win snapped a six-game losing streak.

ELAC led 2-0 after the top of the first inning, but PCC scored twice in the third and got one more in the fifth, and they never trailed again.

Hugo Tafoya went seven innings to earn the win, and he was charged with three runs on eight hits.

Tafoya issued a pair of walks and registered six strikeouts.

Aiden Nunez provided two innings in relief, allowing one run on three hits.

Manny Ramirez hit a solo HR and scored two runs.

Rainer Gahagan went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Evan Chavez walked, doubled and scored.

Matthew Vargas went 3-for-5 with a double and one RBI.

Matias Nolasco singled and had an RBI double.

Jesse Rojas singled and scored.

Mahki Clark walked and singled.

Hector Valdez went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits.

Valdez walked one and fanned six PCC batters.

The Lancers got to Juan Contreras for four runs on six hits and one walk in 1 2/3 innings.

Joaquin Salcedo hit a two-run HR in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Adrian Roman had a two-run single and an RBI double.

Devin Munoz walked, singled, doubled and scored.

Thomas Villanueva went 3-for-4 with an RBI single in the sixth and a two-run double in the seventh inning.

Tyler Garcia singled, doubled and scored.

Bryan Richman singled and scored a pair of runs.

Richman extended his current hit streak to 27 games.

Devon Eskridge singled and scored.

Evan Nahra singled, and Omar Cisneros scored one run.
