Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich & Caysen Sullivan Combine on 2-Hit Shutout in St. Francis’ 1-0 Victory Over Cathedral; SFHS Snaps 11-Game Slide

The drought is finally over.

It had been 41 days since St. Francis had won a baseball game.

It was a 7-5 victory over Chaminade on March 11th in a Mission League contest.

Since then, the Golden Knights had dropped 11 consecutive games, all of which were Mission League contests.

However, on Monday, St. Francis edged Cathedral, 1-0, in a tournament game.

Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich and Caysen Sullivan combined on a two-hit shutout.

Aguilar-Tanphanich went five innings, and he allowed one hit, three walks and struck out seven Phantoms’ batters.

Sullivan provided two scoreless innings in relief, and surrendering just one hit.

Sullivan issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.

Lucius Mika walked and singled, and Nathan Leal singled to account for all of the Cathedral offense.

Nick Overton got the loss after allowing one run on three hits over four innings.

Overton walked two and fanned a pair of Golden Knights.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Dominik Hidalgo walked, and Rafael Lopez came on as the pinch runner.

Two batters later, Aiden Nicolas doubled Lopez home for the game’s only run.

Jordan Lewallen had half of St. Francis’ four base hits on Monday, including a double.

Jackson Pratt singled to account for the rest of the Golden Knights’ offense.

Up next: St. Francis will battle Palm Desert on Tuesday morning at 10.
