Baseball:
Thurgood Marshall Secondary School’s dominant pitching in Mission Valley League games continued on Friday afternoon.
Michael Gerst tossed a two-hit shutout in Marshall’s 5-0 victory at Rosemead.
Gerst didn’t issue a walk and registered 11 strikeouts.
It took him 93 pitches to finish what he started.
Lucas Mojica went 2-for-3 to account for all of the Panthers’ offense.
With the win, Marshall is just one-half game back of first place South El Monte.
Camren Mancha was saddled with the loss.
Mancha went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits.
He walked four and struck out one Marshall battle.
Four Rosemead errors cost them three unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Nate Callaway walked, scored twice and hit a two-run HR in the top of the third inning.
Caleb Thatcher doubled and scored.
Sandro DiClaudio walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
