Baseball:
San Dimas started and finished strong offensively.
The Saints scored six times in the top of the first, and they got six more (combined) in the fifth and seventh innings to outlast Alta Loma, 12-7, on Wednesday.
It’s SDHS’ second highest scoring output the season.
The two Hacienda League programs combined for 19 runs, 24 hits, four errors and six pitchers.
And that included one triple and two doubles apiece for both the Saints and Braves.
After surrendering six runs in the top of the first inning, ALHS actually took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the fourth.
Manuel Tinajero got the win after going 3 1/3 scoreless innings and allowing a pair of hits.
Tinajero issued one walk and registered five strikeouts.
Cody Primanto singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Silas Granados went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Lukas Spence had a three-run double in the bottom of the second inning, and he scored one run.
Noah Verkaik had an RBI triple and scored two runs.
Jake Zandbergen had an RBI double.
Matthew Perez singled and scored.
Vincent Cantu, Grant MacCharles and Jacob Pimentel had one hit apiece for the Braves.
MacCharles got roughed up for six runs on three hits and three walks in just 1/3 of an inning.
Wyatt Snook was charged with three runs on four hits over four innings.
Snook walked two and fanned three SDHS batters.
Zandbergen went 2 2/3 innings, and he allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Ashton Romero walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in one.
Vaughn Coleman went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and three RBIs.
Jayden Medina had two hits, one run and a pair of RBIs.
Aaden Escarcega went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Eleazar Santillan had two RBIs and a run.
Jeremiah Holmes walked, singled and had one RBI.
Jason Almeda walked, singled and scored two runs.
Jayden Claros and AJ Larios both had one single, a run and one RBI apiece.
