Jennings & Level Combined on Five-Hit Shutout & Struck Out Eight in Marshall Fundamental’s 12-0 MVL Victory Over El Monte

Marshall Fundamental made quick work of winless El Monte.

The Eagles claimed a 12-0, five-inning mercy-rule victory over the Lions.

Surprisingly, for a team that got mercy ruled, El Monte narrowly out-hit Marshall, 5-4, including a 2-1 edge in extra-base hits.

George Jennings went three innings to earn the win, and he scattered four hits.

Ben Level got the final six outs and surrendered one hit.

Neither Jennings nor Level issued a free pass, and thy both struck out for EMHS batters.

Ricardo Valdez and Jaime Hernandez had one double apiece.

Owen Alarorre, Isaiah Stanley and Alex Aleman had one hit apiece.

Cesar Castro was stuck with the loss.

Castro was roughed up for 11 runs (nine earned) on four hits over three innings.

Castro walked five and fanned three Marshall batters.

Ryan Pandullo had a two-run double and scored.

Nathan Aviles went 1-for-3 with a run and one RBI.

Kaden Mullins walked, singled and scored.
