Soccer:
As great as Corazon Adomou has been for the Marshall Fundamental girls’ soccer program, and she has been terrific, another hero stepped up on Saturday.
With the Lady Eagles leading 2-1, and just a few seconds remaining in the CIF-SS Division 7 semifinal, Rim of the World was awarded a penalty shot.
Marshall goalie, Lesly Gonzalez, came up with a massive save to secure the win.
It actually turned out to be the last play of the game.
And not to be outdone, Corazon Adomou scored single goals in both halves to account for the Eagles’ offense.
Up next: Marshall will battle Vista del Lago either next Friday or Saturday for the D-7 championship.
The Ravens (13-12-1) edged Grace, 4-3, in their semifinal round showdown.
CIF-SS has yet to determine if the game will be played Friday or Saturday, and the location of the game.
The Eagles will enter the championship game on an 11-game win streak.
