Boys Basketball:
Ayala pulled off a twofer on Saturday.
The Bulldogs extended their current win streak to four games.
And they snapped Calvary Baptist’s nine-game win streak thanks to a 59-58 victory.
The game was so close that Ayala had a two-point advantage in the first quarter, Calvary Baptist score one more point than the Bulldogs in the fourth period.
And the second and third quarters were tied at 12-12 and 17-17, respectively.
Josiah Yang scored a game-high 25 points for AHS, and that included three 3-pointers.
Joshua Townsell chipped in with 14 points and Zach Canellopoulos added 11 for the Bulldogs.
Akol Machol and Medard Dabire scored 16 points apiece to lead the Cougars.
David Pena contributed 13 points in the loss.
Up next: The Bulldogs will host Don Lugo on Monday at 6:30.
