Girls Basketball:
It doesn’t get much closer than this.
La Salle hosted Pasadena on Saturday evening.
And the Bulldogs gave the Lancers all they could handle.
However, La Salle was able to edge PHS, 47-44.
PHS and LSHS matched each other in scoring in the second (11-11), third (15-15) and fourth quarters (10-10).
But a pair of Casey Higgins buckets in the final 16 seconds was the difference.
Higgins had a team-high 17 points in the win.
Aislin Tamez Torres chipped in with 16 points for the Lancers.
Fran Diaz had a game-high 22 points for Pasadena.
Matea Miyake-Trapp had eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
PHS had a 4-1 advantage in 3-pointers made.
Up next: PHS will host Calabasas on Monday at 6.
The Lancers welcome Orange Lutheran to their gym on Tuesday at 6.
