What a week it was for the West Covina High School girls water polo program.
The Bulldogs played four games in five days.
WCHS defeated La Mirada (15-13), Pasadena (10-5) and Cerritos (15-4) before falling on Friday, 14-6, at the hands of St. Lucy’s.
Over that stretch, WCHS junior Deneli Salazar went off for 24 goals.
Salazar had eight goals apiece in wins over La Mirada and Cerritos.
She scored five times in Tuesday’s 10-5 victory over PHS.
And while the Bulldogs were defeated by St. Lucy’s yesterday, Salazar scored half of West Covina’s six goals.
For the young season, Salazar leads WCHS with 31 goals.
That total is approximately three times higher than her next closest teammate (Gracie Jimenez).
