Austin Coronado Rushes for 91 Yards & Two TD’s & Forces a Safety, But Colony Defeated Tartans, 44-33, in Sierra League Shootout

Glendora trailed never led in Friday’s Sierra League showdown at Colony.

The Tartans and Titans were tied 3-3 after the first 12 minutes, and GHS would rally to get as close as 30-25 in the fourth quarter.

Austin Coronado barreled in on a 4-yard TD run with 8:14 to play in Ontario.

Colony, however, scored a pair of TD’s within 71 seconds of each other in the fourth to put the game on ice.

Hunter Lemos booted a 32-yard field goal with 4:04 in the first quarter to even the game at 3-3.

One of the quickest players in the San Gabriel Valley, Tim Johnson, caught an 86-yard TD pass from Sebastian Lawrence late in the second quarter, and Glendora trailed, 16-10.

Johnson caught five passes for 100 yards and the TD.

Coronado finished with 91 yards rushing on six carries, and that included TD runs of 48 and 4 yards.

Coronado also had a tackle in the end zone to earn the Tartans two points.

Nazir McGlothen carried the ball seven times for 37 yards, and his 6-yard TD run in the fourth quarter capped the GHS scoring on Friday.

Sebastian Lawrence completed 14-of-27 for 150 yards.

The GHS freshman had the TD pass to Johnson, and he was picked once.
