Arroyo Seco Sentinels Got Solid Pitching & Timely Hitting in Thursday’s 3-1 Victory Over San Gabriel Valley Monarchs

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels inched even closer to a Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League title after Thursday’s 3-1 victory over the San Gabriel Valley Monarchs.

Trailing 1-0, Arroyo Seco scored once in the top of the eighth and they got two runs in the ninth.

Joe Bacon and Daniel Ramirez tossed three shutout innings apiece for the Sentinels.

Bacon didn’t allow a hit or walk, and he struck out three Monarchs.

Ramirez surrendered two hits, walked one and struck out one.

Isaiah Diaz was credited with the win after going a scoreless eighth and ninth innings.

Diaz allowed one hit, didn’t issue a walk, and he fanned a pair of SGVM batters.

Ethan Nunez singled and had the Monarchs’ only RBI.

David Shackleford walked and scored.

Shane Dougherty, Ivan Barragan, Jake Trabbie and Landon Lowther had one hit apiece for the Monarchs.

Trabbie extended his current win streak to 18 games.

Jacob Fox got the loss after allowing two runs on three hits and a walk in the ninth inning.

Jason Givens went 2-for-4 with a double, run and one RBI.

Mark Manuel singled in a run.

Devon Eskridge drew a pair of walks and scored.

Devin Munoz walked, singled and drove in one.

Eli Biehl singled and doubled.

Nate Longoria singled and scored.

Omar Cisneros and Doug Pyle had one hit apiece in Thursday’s win.

Up next: The Monarchs will battle the California Outlaws on Friday at 1 at Occidental.

The Sentinels meet up with the Ventura County Bucs on Saturday morning at 11:15 at LA Valley College.
