OC Juice Take Early Five-Run Lead & Hold on to Defeat California Outlaws, 6-5, in Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League

The Orange County Juice scored six runs in the top of the first inning, and they held on for a 6-5 victory over the California Outlaws in Wednesday’s Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League game.

Geovanny Hernandez went five innings, and he allowed three runs on five hits to earn the win.

Hernandez issued a pair of walks, and he struck out two Outlaws’ batters.

Joe Romero was credited with the save by going four innings and allowing two runs on four hits.

Romero walked three and fanned three batters.

Marcus Moyer singled, tripled, scored and drove in one run.

Austin Easter had a double and two RBIs.

Clay Porter singled and scored.

Aaron Whobrey walked, singled and scored.

Jared Benash went 2-for-3 with a walk and one run.

Luke Viola walked, scored and drove in one run on a sac fly.

Seth Reker and Vito Fowler had one hit apiece for the Outlaws.

Cam Van Echten got the loss after surrendering six runs (four earned) on five hits over two innings.

Van Echten walked one and struck out one OCJ batter.

Isaiah Pacheco walked, doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Jordan Sheridan had an RBI double.

Mario Catalan singled and scored.

Amari Yolas walked, singled and scored.

Jaden St Cyr walked and scored.

Luke Willison scored two runs in Wednesday’s win.

Up next: Both programs will be in action on Thursday.

The Outlaws face the Ventura County Bucs at Ben Hines Field in La Verne at 4.

And the Juice meet up with the Arroyo Seco Royals at Biola at 4:30.
