South Hills Pounds Out 17-1 Victory at Wilson in Five Innings; Huskies Improve to 6-0 in Hacienda League Games

South Hills secured its annual two-game Hacienda League sweep over last-place Wilson.

The Huskies claimed victories of 9-0 on Tuesday, and 17-1 on Thursday.

SHHS out-hit WHS, 17-2, and the Huskies had 12 players with at least one hit.

Christian Santoyo was credited with the win after going two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.

Santoyo didn’t issue a walk and got half of his six outs via strikeout.

Nathan Camp had both of Wilson’s hits, including a double, and he drove in the Wildcats lone run.

Karl Cruz walked and scored.

Christian Urbina got the loss after surrendering 15 runs (seven earned) on 13 hits and four walks over three innings of work.

Urbina struck out one SHHS batter.

Steven Jimenez went 3-for-3, with a double, run and three RBIs.

Diego Villarreal singled and drove in three runs.

Matt Moreno walked, singled and scored three times.

Christian Gomez walked, singled, doubled, drove in one, and scored three runs.

Paul Vazquez went 2-for-3, with three runs and two RBIs.

Noah Malone singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Luke Bauer went 2-for-2, with a walk and one run.

Carson Baker and Fabian Marez had one single apiece.

Aiden Soto walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.

Richie Soto singled, scored two runs and had a pair of RBIs.

Andrew Lulet singled and scored, and he provided one scoreless and hitless inning in relief, including one strikeout.

Up next: The Huskies travel to Walnut on Tuesday to face a Mustangs program that is 6-0 in league games.
