Glendora and Alta Loma are hoping to avoid a last place finish in Palomares League play.
In the first of a three-game set, the Braves defeated the Tartans, 9-7, on Monday at ALHS.
Fast forward 48 hours, and GHS would even the series at 1-1, thanks to a 3-0 victory.
Aaron Jacobsen did the heavy lifting for the Tartans.
Jacobsen tossed a four-hit shutout on Wednesday.
The GHS junior didn’t issue a walk and he struck out five Alta Loma batters.
Jacobsen needed just 71 pitches to finish what he started.
Riley Wallace had two of the Braves four hits.
Adrian Morales doubled, and Evan Salcido singled in the loss.
Moeses Baron got the loss.
Baron surrendered three runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Baron walked one and struck out four GHS batters.
Aidan Yamazaki had an RBI double.
Jacobsen helped his own cause, going 2-for-4 with one run and an RBI.
Mason Danison walked, singled twice and scored.
Garrett Dykstra singled and scored.
Andrew Des Marets doubled, and Matthew Martinez and Mizuki Williamson had one single apiece.
With seven games to go, ALHS and GHS are tied for last with identical 2-6 records.
