It’s been a challenging 2024 season for the Etiwanda baseball program.
But after Monday’s seventh-inning rally, the Eagles find themselves just one-half game out of third place in the Baseline League standings.
EHS scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to claim a 2-1 victory over Upland.
Dylan Webb went six innings for UHS, and he allowed one run on seven hits.
Webb issued one walk and fanned a pair of EHS batters.
Max Biddle got the loss after allowing one run on two hits and a walk over 2/3 of an inning.
Blake Torres tripled to open the bottom of the seventh.
Chris Montes de Oca got the Eagles even with an RBI single.
Three batters later, and with two outs, LJ Roellig singled home the game-winning run.
Ryan Severns had a pair of singles.
Torres singled and tripled.
Christian Eaton walked and singled, and Jaeden Toki and Al Moreno had one single apiece.
Moreno went six innings, and he allowed one run on seven hits.
Moreno didn’t issue a walk and struck out four UHS batters.
Dominic Fazzini got credit for the win, going a scoreless seventh on one hit and one walk.
Josh Angely singled and scored.
Jake Mensen went 2-for-3.
Carson Kinnick had an RBI double.
Carlos Arteaga walked and singled.
Martin Hernandez, Brody Morgan and Noah Garbick singled for the Highlanders.
