Baseball:
San Marino joined Temple City atop the Rio Hondo League standings after Thursday’s 5-3 victory over La Canada.
JJ Wilson went 3 1/3 innings, and he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits.
Wilson walked five and struck out five.
Caleb Newton provided one scoreless inning of relief.
And Brandon Strauss went 2 2/3 innings, and he surrendered one run on two hits.
Stauss didn’t issue a walk and fanned four La Canada batters.
Will Park had an RBI ground out, reached base on a dropped third strike, and he scored on a Leon Chen single.
Shaan Gupta walked twice and scored.
Seth Larsen singled and drove in a run.
Scott Burns got the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits over four innings.
Burns issued four walks and struck out five San Marino batters.
Jamie Bercaw went 3-for-3, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Coleman Morning walked, singled and scored.
Ryan Park walked and scored.
Sid Danenhauer was hit by pitch twice, and he scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the third inning to give the Titans a 3-2 lead.
