Baseball:
What a rollercoaster of a baseball game.
On Friday afternoon, Agoura took its first lead of the game (1-0) at San Dimas in the first inning.
And the Chargers trailed the rest of the way (3-1) until they scored three runs in the top of the seventh.
They held a 4-3 advantage as the Saints picked up their bats in the bottom half of the seventh.
Unfortunately for the visitors, San Dimas would rally for two runs, and they earned a 5-4 walk-off victory.
Rocco Regan had a big day for SDHS.
First, Regan went 4 1/3 innings on the mound until Vaughn Coleman took over in the fifth.
Kasen Khansarinia had his number called in the seventh.
The Saints senior was facing a two-on and no-out scenario, as SDHS trailed, 4-3.
Khansarinia, however, clutched up, and he didn’t allow Agoura to extend their lead.
San Dimas had scored three runs in the bottom of the first to answer the Chargers first run.
And they did the same thing in the seventh, with two runs, including a walk-off via wild pitch that allowed Regan to score the game winning run.
The seventh-inning rally started with a Ryan Castro double.
Castro scored on Regan’s one-out single to tie the game at 4-4.
With an 0-and-2 count to pinch-hitter Jayden Claros, the above-mentioned wild pitch allowed Regan and the Saints to celebrate.
Regan went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
Khansarinia singled twice and scored.
Landon White singled and scored.
Ashton Romero and Kody King both had RBI singles in the first inning for San Dimas.
Up next: The Saints travel to Los Altos on Tuesday at 3:15.
