College Baseball:
For the second consecutive start, Mt. SAC’s Matthew Lorenzano went seven scoreless innings in a South Coast Conference win.
On Tuesday, Lorenzano didn’t issue a walk and fanned six in a 13-1 beatdown of Compton College.
Kevin Ramirez singled and scored, and Kaiga Nakawake singled and doubled.
Compton’s Joseph Giunta fell to 0-5 after allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over his four innings.
Giunta walked four and fanned a pair of Mounties.
MSAC got a combined six runs on four hits and two walks in just 1 1/3 innings off Elijah Belden and Emiliano Valadez.
Joel Quemada singled, doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Ty Thomas walked, singled, tripled and finished with three RBIs.
Andrew Ramirez went 2-for-4, with two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Joel Gutierrez drew a pair of walks, singled twice, scored three runs and had two RBIs.
Kaden Moeller singled and scored.
Joey Rossetti walked twice, had a pair of singles, scored and drove in one run.
Jake Hernandez had a pinch-hit RBI single.
Andrew Walters walked, singled and scored three runs.
Up next: The Mounties will travel to Compton on Thursday at 2.
