The only thing better than tossing a shutout is completing that feat against a rival.
And that’s exactly what San Dimas’ Jude Favela did on Thursday.
He tossed a six-hit shutout in a 7-0 victory at Bonita.
Favela walked three and fanned four BHS batters.
Of Favela’s 99 pitches, 61 went for strikes.
Austin Owens had a pair of singles for Bonita.
Diego Vazquez doubled, while Diego Villa, Andrew Alva and Cody White singled for the Bearcats.
Camden Farina was saddled with the loss.
Farina went five innings and allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits.
Farina didn’t issue a walk and fanned a pair of SDHS batters.
Jayden Bernal surrendered one run on three hits over two innings.
Bernal didn’t walk anyone and struck out two.
Vaughn Coleman went 2-for-4, with a double, three runs and two RBIs.
Landon White singled twice and drove in three runs for SDHS.
Rocco Regan had an RBI double.
Kody King and John Nauertz singled and scored one run apiece.
Ryan Castro had an RBI single.
Favela went 2-for-4.
Up next: San Dimas and Bonita will both play home games today (Friday) today at 3:30.
The Bearcats host La Mirada (2-2) and the Saints welcome Downey (1-8) to their campus.
