Baseball:
The only way to get prepared for Baseline League play and the postseason is to schedule games against southern section powers.
And year in and year out, Warren is one of the better programs in the southern sections, led by their longtime coach, Scott Pearson.
Los Osos traveled to Downey, and they were locked in a 0-0 tie with the Bears as the game entered the bottom of the fifth inning.
Warren, though, would score four times in the fifth inning and five more in the sixth to claim a 9-0 victory.
Aidan Cube got the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Cube walked three and struck out two.
Offensively, Hunter Meyer singled and doubled.
Roberto Topete singled twice.
Jake Monsen doubled, and Wyatt Mohler singled for the Grizzlies.
Up next: LOHS will travel to Yucaipa next Saturday at 11.
