Baseball:
San Marino’s Tomas Bilvado got the Titans off to a great start in Thursday’s Rio Hondo League opener.
Bilvado tossed a three-hit shutout, as San Marino defeated their host from Monrovia, 4-0.
Bilvado scattered three hits, walked three and fanned seven Wildcats.
Joshua Griffiths, Isaac Diaz and Isaias Hernandez accounted for the Monrovia offense.
Zachary Menlove was saddled with the loss.
Menlove went 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits.
He issued four walks and struck out five San Marino batters.
Sid Danenhauer went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Ryan Park scored and had an RBI.
Coleman Morning singled and scored.
Up next: The Titans travel to Pioneer today (Friday) at 3:15.
And the Wildcats head to La Canada on Monday to resume Rio Hondo League play.
