Boys Basketball:
Damien looks to be playing its best basketball of the season.
After winning the Baseline League outright title, Damien had a first-round bye in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
Two nights later, the Spartans cruised to an 18-point victory over Crossroads.
And in last night’s quarterfinal, Damien secured an impressive 74-46 triumph of visiting St. Bernard.
Xavier Clinton led the way again with a game-high 26 points.
Nate Garcia provided 20 points in the win.
Eli Garner chipped in with 15 points.
Kendyl Sanders led St. Bernard with nine points.
Up next: The Spartans will host Windward on Friday at 7.
The Wildcats (27-3) edged Los Alamitos, 77-75, in their quarterfinal round contest.
