Girls Basketball:
It was a foregone conclusion that Flintridge Prep would dominate Poly in their regular season finale.
The last time the Panthers beat the Wolves, Barack Obama had just begun year two of his second term.
Sixteen days ago, the Wolves defeated the Panthers by 59 points in Pasadena.
Fast forward to tonight, and Prep secured a 50-8 victory to not only run their Prep League schedule unscathed, they Wolves also extended their current win streak to 22 games.
Per usual, Maddie Smith led the way with 12 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Freshman Hailey Louie contributed 10 points.
Izzie Chan played very well in her final regular season game for her mom (Jayme Chan) and her godfather/uncle, Kevin Kiyomura.
Chan finished with seven points, five rebounds and three steals.
Akemi Fu provided seven points and seven rebounds.
Juliet Lord, Akira Brown, Isabella Heredia and Brynn Connolly scored two points apiece to account for the Poly offense.
The three Prep seniors (Izzie Chan, Cat Baldocchi and Kassidy Huie) won 80 of the 92 games they played, and that includes last year’s CIF-SS Division 3AA championship.
Up next: The Wolves will get their playoff opponent on Sunday afternoon at 12:30.
