Girls Basketball:
Talk about a mismatch.
Glendora outscored visiting Ayala, 30-0, in the first quarter, and went on to defeat the Bulldogs, 65-18, in the Palomares League opener.
The game was originally scheduled for AHS, but there was an issue with the padding behind one of the baskets, so the game was changed to Glendora High sometime on Friday afternoon.
Rylie Anderson hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points.
‘(Ronnie)’ Reagan Herrmann scored 12 points, as the Tartans improved to 13-1.
All nine of Brianna Gomez’s points were from 3-point land.
Malia Ishibashi scored 12 of Ayala’s 16 points, thanks to four 3-pointers.
Rebekah Zweerink chipped in nine points for GHS.
Glendora has now won 12 consecutive games.
Up next: The Tartans open the Glendora Tournament on Wednesday morning at 9:30 against Garfield.
