Girls Basketball:
It’s not often when one can say a game is over after one quarter, but such was the case on Thursday.
Bonita led 23-0 after the first period, and cruised to a 59-11 victory over West Covina.
Lexi Mercado and Naomi Acuna had 14 points apiece to lead the BHS offense.
Mercado and Acuna both hit a pair of 3-pointers as well.
Maei’a Reaves scored eight points in the win.
Clarissa Mendez had a team-high four points for West Covina.
Tressa Beatty and Serenity Henderson hit one 3-pointer apiece, and both contributed seven points for the Bearcats.
Up next: Bonita travels to rival San Dimas (3-1) on Monday for a showdown with the Saints.
