Football:
For the second time this season, Pasadena City College traveled to Rancho Cucamonga to battle Chaffey College.
In week-five, the Panthers defeated the visiting Lancers, 31-21, in a game that featured 806 yards of total offense.
Fast forward to November 25th, and Chaffey would edge PCC, 16-12, in the American Division Championship Bowl game.
This time around, both programs would combine for 599 yards of offense and seven of the eight scoring plays came from the foot of PCC’s Justin Vergara and Chaffey’s Anthony Hagan.
Chaffey finishes a record-setting 2023 season at 11-0.
PCC was 9-2, and both losses were courtesy of the boys from Rancho Cucamonga.
With just over five minutes gone by, Dereun Dortch got the Panthers on the board with a 1-yard TD run.
The final 54 minutes of game time belonged to Vergara and Hagan.
Vergara connected on field goals of 23 and 25 yards to pull PCC to within 7-6 of Chaffey.
Hagan’s 30-yard field goal with 3:10 to play in the first half would give the Panthers a 10-6 lead at the break.
Late in the third quarter, Vergara made consecutive field goals (19-and-33 yards) to give PCC its first lead of the game at 12-10.
Hagan, though, would convert on field goals of 18 and 43 yards at 14:09 and 10:11 of the fourth quarter, respectively.
That would be enough to secure a perfect season for the Chaffey program.
Dortch completed 23-of-36 for 231 yards.
Dortch also gained 24 yards on the ground on 14 carries.
Jayson Cortes led Chaffey with 68 yards rushing on 20 carries.
Jeremiah Beck had game highs in receptions (7) and receiving yards (72).
Corey Cabriales tied Beck with seven catches and totaled 48 receiving yards.
Demajea Mitchell had five receptions for 61 yards.
PCC’s Kekahi Graham completed 20-of-39 for 174 yards.
Isaac Glover carried the ball 18 times for 58 yards on Saturday.
William Parra had five catches for 50 yards, and Jordan Rodriguez caught four passes for 29 yards.
Vergara went 4-for-4 on his field goal attempts, while Hagan was 3-for-4.

Adrian Ramirez totaled nine tackles, and Torriq Brumfield had eight.
